Online Safety
Online Safety at St Bede’s
At St Bede’s, the safeguarding and welfare of our children is our top priority. We recognise that in our ever-changing technological world children have access to a range of online platforms more than ever before. As a school, we ensure the school's online procedures keep children and young people safe, and teach them about online safety, in and outside of school. We foster an open environment in which children and young people are encouraged to ask any questions and participate in an ongoing conversation about the benefits and risks of the online world. Online Safety is highlighted with in our safeguarding policy and is the responsibility of all safeguarding leads.
Who to ask if you have a concern:
We want children to grow up with a vast knowledge of the online world and the skills to use it to succeed in life, however, we recognise that all children must understand the risks and how to keep themselves safe. In school, online safety is not limited to Computing lessons. We maintain an on-going discussion and ‘open door’ policy for children to ask or raise any concerns. As a parent, it is important that you support your child with this at home and understand the importance of keeping children safe online.
