Science is a core subject and is taught at St Bede’s every week. The aim of our weekly science lessons is to develop children’s curiosity and embed knowledge and understanding of the world. The breadth of the curriculum allows children to explore and develop a high level of skill. Through thorough planning, practical lessons, and teacher knowledge, we aim to provide outstanding teaching to inspire children.
Teachers deliver a subject-based topic that encompasses physics, chemistry and biology. Practical investigations are integral to our science lessons and we aim to develop children’s ambitions by introducing them to the greatest scientists in British and world history. Our ‘Love to Investigate’ Cornerstones scheme also allows us to incorporate investigative science into our foundation subjects, where relevant.
